Born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, I first moved to Pennsylvania in 2007 to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Geology at Allegheny College. Upon graduation in 2011, I moved a few hours southeast to State College, PA, where I began work on my PhD at Penn State University. I received my PhD in 2016 and have since taught at liberal arts colleges in OH and PA.
Like most field geologists, I try to spend as much of my spare time as possible exploring the outdoors with my wife, Rebecca. Hiking, fly fishing, canoeing, and backpacking are my primary recreational activities. I also love studying local ecology, especially birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Other hobbies include playing guitar and banjo, travel, and reading. |
